ABOUT ME

RESUME & BIO

Hi! My name is Vivienne Menyhart. I am a 21
year-old  Senior Marketing student at the University of Cincinnati, and I'm originally from Cleveland, Ohio. I have always loved music and had a huge passion for everything going on behind the scenes with my favorite artists. In the past few years, I have decided to take that passion to the next level to work in my dream field! During my Sophomore year of high school, I started going to a bunch of concerts. In just a couple of months, I went to around five different shows.

This was the start of me realizing how much I loved live music. I used to freak out for every concert while everyone around me would say "Vivi, why are you losing your sh*t? It's literally just a concert.". And then it all began to click for me. The more I fell into music content, the more passionate I became. I familiarized myself with the bands, touring crews, and even management teams of my favorite artists. During shows, I was always thinking about how many people were backstage and what they had to do in order to make the show happen. To put it simply, I just wanted to be on the other side of it. Now, as a Senior in college, I have had various opportunities to work in the industry. After some small roles and an internship with an indie record label, I was able to work with Live Nation as a Marketing intern this past summer. Now, I couldn't be more excited and motivated to pursue a career in this industry.

MY EXPERIENCES

I am now a Senior.
As I near the end of my college experience, I am more focused than ever on where to take my career.  I have utilized the past two years to get my foot in the door of the music industry. Through various online communities, I have been able to make connections and find several successful job opportunities. Through this, I have been able to learn about the industry and grow my network. I've been able to land two internships over the past two years, including a spot with the Live Nation internship program this past summer.

I was the summer Marketing intern for Live Nation Cleveland.
This past summer, I had the privilege of working as the Marketing intern for Live Nation Cleveland. My internship was focused in content creation and growing the regional social media pages. Through the summer, I generated original creative content that connected with their audience and increased engagement significantly. Behind the scenes, I worked closely with various media buys like Spotify, TikTok and Meta advertising as well as scheduling social media campaigns and assisting with shows on-site.

I was the intern at Humans Were Here, a record label by Tom Higgenson.
In the summer of 2022, I found an opportunity to intern at this label through the Fan to Band street team. Since June, I have gained invaluable experience through the work that we have been doing. I have worked several release campaigns and was responsible for conducting a team of nearly 30 street team members who were working on our campaign. Throughout my 7 months working here, I have been able to successfully apply my skills towards several different kinds of projects. I am now the head of social media and marketing for the label.

I was accepted into the mentorship program.
In June, I applied to join the summer mentorship program with 1520 Vision and I was accepted! I was paired with the lovely Sara Fleischer, who has plenty of industry experience in various areas. Each week, we would discuss a different area of the industry. She would present me with notes, websites and any resources that I would need in order to learn. By the end of the summer, I had worked on two small projects with Sara and presented them at our final meeting. During my trip to LA in August, I was actually able to meet Sara and talk in person! She has been an amazing source for advice and I cannot wait to continue making connections.

TikTok

I started a music industry TikTok account.
This summer, I decided to create a new TikTok, separate from my personal account. I had been thinking about creating industry-related/concert content for several weeks and decided to finally do it. I can honestly say that, so far, it has been a blast! There is nothing I love more than concerts, so going back through concert content, coming up with video ideas, following certain trends, and seeing them fully executed has been super rewarding. I love using the platform to find my niche and connect with music fans and industry professionals alike across the platform.

I was accepted into the Street Team.
In March of 2022 I was lucky enough to be selected to join the Fan to Band Street Team. Through their well-developed Discord server, I have been able to communicate with even more aspiring industry professionals, possible mentors, and many people who are just fans of music. I have also spent time learning in fandom-specific channels, which have been extremely beneficial in connecting with people who have the same interests as me. From this, I was able to land an internship at Humans Were Here.

I worked with an independent artist.
I was able to meet an independent artist through my mentorship with April this past semester. The artist has 314,286 monthly Spotify listeners, 43.2k followers on Instagram, and a combined total of over 1.4 M likes across her TikTok pages. We worked closely for about 6 months planning release strategies, outreach and promo for her music. This past August, I visited LA to work on a music video with a small team. We shot on various locations and generated dozens of ideas for social media content. I assisted in content creation and the overall production of the video.

Mentorship

I found a mentor on TikTok.

Sometime this semester, I was scrolling through Tiktok when I came across April Bredael of Warner Music U offering a small group of people the chance to connect and be mentored by her. Along with six other girls, we had bi-monthly meetings where April introduced some industry friends to us. We were given the opportunity to chat for an hour and discuss any and every question that we had relating to the industry. From this, I was able to meet the artist LO LA, who I am currently working with now.

I posted my vision board to LinkedIn.
When I joined my mentorship this semester, I was strongly encouraged by April to create a vision board for the upcoming year. I had never done anything like that so I was super nervous. Upon creation, I actually had a ton of fun and was able to figure out where I wanted to be by the end of the year. After putting it together, I posted it to LinkedIn and received a ton of positive feedback!
